The claims seem sketchy, January 16, 2010

Since I’ve been using it (about a month), I have noticed a slight difference in evening out the tone of my skin, though I don’t think I look especially “radiant”. I can’t really tell the difference that way. The SPF is fine for me, since I stay out of the sun almost entirely, though I always think if I were going out I’d be wearing at least this SPF with makeup over it. It does smell very nice, and it’s very gentle. I have oily/combination skin, with I think medium-sized pores, and don’t feel it makes an especially good base for foundation, so I suggest a separate primer if using this product. That being said, I don’t tend to look shiny. It lasts for EVER, though, because you only need a little bit and it does leave your skin smooth and well-moisturized. So if all you need is a light moisturizer, this is well worth the price. I would think it would be best for someone in their teens or early to mid twenties, and I think it would be very soothing for anyone with sensitive skin, though I can’t be sure of that considering you could probably use hydrochloric acid as an astringent on my face and I’d be okay.

    Good Moisturizer!, September 13, 2010

I have fairly sensitive skin and am very picky about the products I use on my face, using only products that have virtually no smell. This one fits the bill for me. I have been using this for about a year now, and have been quite pleased. I wasn’t looking for a product to work miracles, just to moisturize, as either I don’t have a lot of wrinkles or my eyes have deteriorated so much that I don’t see them. :)

Dangerous Ingredient – STAY AWAY!!, April 13, 2010

By Oz Mum in NYC “Jennifer” (NYC, NY) –

This review is from: Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer SPF 15 – 4 oz. (Health and Beauty)

I have used other Aveeno products with satisfactory results. However, not so with the Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer. Whilst my skin is generally *not* sensitive, I did get a shocking reaction to this moisturizer. The moisturizer gave an immediate stinging effect – I should have stopped then. But the stinging was mild and I believed the hype enough to give this a longer trial. Bad mistake. The next day, and for the next three days (today is the third day), my skin has been puffy, red and chafed. It gets worse.. So, I researched the active ingredients and guess what? It contains Octinoxate which produces a list of side effects all of which I experienced AND is not recommended for pregnant women which I happen to be. Check this out [...] I write this in the hope that others will be informed before they make the mistake I did. My skin is still chafed and my face is red and blotchy. I have called Aveeno about this. The representative was surprisingly receptive and was interested in getting as much info as poss so he could forward on for further investigation. If you have not bought this product, don’t. If you did buy this product and received a skin irritation, pls make sure you call 1-866-4AVEENO I am disappointed that Aveeno included an active ingredient without doing their research first. If I was Aveeno and I understood the side effects and the negative effects on pregnant women of this ingredient, I would have stayed clear of this ingredient. I hope they will be more careful in the future. I know I will be.
